When we're out and about capturing music and giving away guitars, we'll keep you up to date on where and when. In between, we'll share the highlights. And reverberations.

Set the Stage

This is it!

Wow, this summer has blown by. It’s almost August already. And, it’s the last Musical Underground Ottawa of the year this weekend.

Which means a couple really wonderful things:

  1. Ottawa musicians have a chance to share their music
  2. Someone’s going to have a free guitar by dinner on Sunday
  3. Impromptu Playground is going to set the stage for the session, thanks to an Awesome Ottawa grant

All on one day! So here’s the scoop:

Where: Sunday afternoon, come by 45°24’09.2″N 75°42’45.5″W, otherwise known as the multi-use pathway under the 417. It’s just South of Gladstone and West of Preston – easy to get to from Gladstone or Young streets, or via the pathway itself (5-10 minute walk from Bayview OC Transpo station).

What: Come play a song, we’ll post it on, and you’ll get entered in a draw for an $800 Seagull guitar. Otherwise, come hang out, listen, and enjoy the scene as we turn a public space into a vibrant place for a few hours. To learn more about that side of things, check out Impromptu Playground who’s taking over that afternoon.

When: Sunday, July 27, in anything short of a thunderstorm. Let’s say noon until 4.

Who: Who knows? That’s the point. As long as you’re there. You’re crucial to the whole thing.

Why? Everyone has their reasons. Free guitar. Get your music heard. Share your stories. Have fun. It’s pretty fun.
